Note: Please remember that Principality of Ulek regional scenarios and Sheldomar Valley meta-regional scenarios cost PCs with a home region of the Principality of Ulek only one (1) Time Unit. Go to top
Battleaxe of Retribution 3.5 Conversion Please note during conversion to 3.5, the Battleaxe of Retribution from scenario ULP1-01 Find My Son only converts to a medium-sized battleaxe. This is due to the fact that the battleaxe was original being created by to be a gift to a young dwarven boy named Olinstaad upon his coming of age. Go to top
"Downward" Slaves This announcement is intended for PCs enslaved during any of the "Downward" scenarios. Effected players should contact the Principality of Ulek Triad for official campaign documentation. This campaign documentation is needed before the PC can be played again.
Those PCs enslaved during either ULP1-04 Downward or ULP2-02 Further Downward, must pay 52 Time Units (effective at the conclusion of said scenario when they were captured). (Thus, if said PC played it last year and had 26 Time Units at the end of the event, said PC would have 26 Time Units left for this year.) However, said PCs gains access to the following feats:
The PC also meets the Special Requirement for Dungeon Delver (Living for a year without seeing the light of the sun and living among underground denizens).
Those PCs enslaved during ULP3-03 Even Further Downward must pay 13 Time Units (effective at the conclusion of said scenario when you were captured). (These Time Units must be paid with Year #4 TUs if the PC does not have 13 TUs to pay this year.) However, said PC gains access to the following feats:
Blindsight, 5-foot Radius (S&F)
Extra Favored Enemy [Monstrous Humanoid Only] (MotW)
Favored Critical [Monstrous Humanoid Only] (MotW)
Resist Poison (MotW) Go to top
Introductory Scenarios Introductory scenarios are designed for introducing new players and PCs to the region. The Triad will premiere four of them throughout each year, generally at conventions, as seen in the published premiere schedule. The introductory scenarios can be ordered and run one month after their premiere by conventions and established gaming groups recognized by the Triad, currently FRAG, BAR, Miami Circle, RGS and the NW Florida group. For individuals, the introductory scenarios can be ordered and run six (6) months after they premiere. All requests for running introductory scenarios must be approved by the Triad. Go to top

Military Leave Policy To: Active Duty Personnel of the Royal Army, Royal Navy and Mine Rangers
From: Marshal Augustos Clinkerfire, Warden of the Jewel
Subject: Military Leave Policy
The war on the eastern front continues to drag on. The Pomarj enemy has demonstrated an unprecedented staying power, but our valiant troops continue to press them back from our lands. Nonetheless, the command recognizes the strain of prolonged alert periods. In consequence, we have established a policy for our decorated veterans, to reward them with additional leave time to be spent as they wish.
The Principality of Ulek values her defenders. We will march on to victory, until all our lands breathe free again.
Signed,
Augustos Clinkerfire, Commanding
Military Leave Policy - Principality of Ulek:
Members of any of the three branches may utilize Commendations and Recommendations they have received from their superiors (i.e. Royal Navy awards pertain to Royal Navy sailors and marines only). These awards may be exchanged for leave in the following manner:
Normal/Low Recommendation or Commendation of appropriate service (Mine Ranger for Mine Rangers, etc.) = 1 TU of leave.
Intermediate Recommendation or Commendation of appropriate service = 2 TUs of leave.
High Recommendation or Commendation of appropriate service = 3 TUs of leave.
1. Leave in this case grants the ability to use the appropriate number of Military TUs for Non-Military activities. For example, a PC using an Intermediate award (2 TUs) could play a one round Core scenario and deduct the 2 TU cost from their Military allotment of annual TUs.
2. Recommendations and Commendations can be used only ONCE, whether for leave, promotion, admission to levels of a meta-organization, etc.
3. Players should have the judge void the cert or line out the section of an AC/AR, as appropriate.
4. The use of a Recommendation or Commendation for leave or any other purpose should be noted in the “Play Notes" section of the AR where they are used and initialed by the judge of that event.
5. This policy is effective August 1, 2004. Go to top
Moving and Changing Regions Anyone who physically moves to the Florida/Puerto Rico area can petition the triad for change in their PC's Home Region as well. To do so, please email your request to Michael Jones at michaeltlh@earthlink.net. Go to top
Ordering Regional and Meta-regional Scenarios 1) First, go to the RPGA Network's official website and place your event order as usual. Please make sure you write down your "Convention Name" and "Convention Code". Also, ensure that you are listed as the organizer of the convention, gameday or home play event with your correct e-mail address. 2) Download the scenarios from the www.living-greyhawk.com site. (See under the 'Scenarios' section.) If a scenario does not appear on this site, please make note of it in your e-mail to me (see next step). 3) Send an e-mail to Michael Jones <michaeltlh@earthlink.net> with your full name, e-mail address, RPGA #, event name, convention code, LG scenarios ordered and event type (convention, game day or home game) plus your snail mail address or the snail mail address of the event location (to confirm that the event is in Florida/Puerto Rico). Everything has a convention code even home play events. Please make sure you send your request from the same e-mail address you placed your event order under at the RPGA website. 4) Now, you must wait. We need to verify that your convention was indeed ordered. This can take any where from as little as a day or longer. Please order early to help us out. We will be able to confirm this at the same time the adventure scenarios are available to you so in theory there should be no problems waiting for Adventure Records.
Some Notes: 1) Core scenarios are downloaded from the members section of the RPGA site. The Triad cannot assist you with these scenarios. 2) Please note that all Year #1 (2000-2001) and Year #2 (2002) scenarios are now retired. Retired scenario will not be distributed. 3) You may not under any circumstances distribute the Adventure Records files to anyone. These files may only be possessed by the event organizer and the tournament coordinator in the case of a large convention. You may not send them to your judges or any other staff. We appreciate your help and understanding here. Anyone who legitimately needs these files can get them from Michael Jones <michaeltlh@earthlink.net>. 4) Scenario passwords should only be given to those individuals (judges) who need them. 5) Effective January 1st, 2003, players may only purchase items from approved sources; they no longer have access to the entire DMG. Please check out the rules in the "Living Greyhawk Campaign Sourcebook" for more details.
If you have any questions kindly send me an e-mail . Go to top
Special Missions To help aid the Triad in handling special missions, we have created a Special Missions team, headed by Tad Kilgore. This team will ensure more timely special missions for our region. For those currently interested in having a special mission written for one of their PCs (even if you have already indicated this interest to us, via Chris Reed), please download and send via email the Special Missions Form to michaeltlh@earthlink.net:
Please note that special missions are sanctioned upon approval of the Triad. They are written for 4-6 players. Generally, it is up to the requester to find/select these players. However, the judge, author(s) and available dates for these events are determined by the Triad and the Special Mission team.
Additionally, special missions may not always be first-come, first serve due to a variety of factors. Go to top
War Tax Effective March 2004, the Wax Tax has been repealed for all scenarios released after this date, beginning with ULP4-03 Dark Trade. The War Tax is still in effect for Year #3 (2003) events and ULP4-01 Even Further Downward Still and ULP4-02 Axe of Corond from Year #4 (2004), regardless of the date they are actually played. From May 2002 through February 2004 there was a requirement that any PC adventuring or performing mercenary work in a Principality of Ulek regional event was required to pay 10% of their total gain to the Principality of Ulek government in taxes, to aid with the ongoing war in the Disputed Territory. Failure to pay results in the loss of 4 Time Units per event played without paying the tax. Those PCs in the Principality of Ulek, Gran March, or Bissel military (Army, Navy, etc.) are exempt from this taxation. Audited PCs can be assessed any gold or TU penalties due.
Note that special, unique items awarded on an AR are not included in the tax calculation. Record the 10% tax under Lifestyle: Other Coin Spent. Record any TU penalties under Added TU Costs, and deduct four times Lifestyle: Standard costs for the TUs. Membership in the Royal Army, Royal Navy, and Mine Rangers metagaming organizations or text in the event may allow certain PCs to avoid paying this tax. The player is responsible for providing documentation of tax exemption to the judge (or Triad member).
Note: Due to being hired by the Royal Army or Principality of Ulek government, PCs, even non-military ones, who play the following regional scenarios are exempt from paying the War Tax during these events:
ULP2-01 From All Sides
ULP2-03 Plea to an Empire
ULP2-04 Mountain Manor
ULP2-06 Fort Stonewall
ULP2-07 Messengers
